Dear Supporters,
Thank you very much for the generous support you donated
toward my 2012 mission trip to Haiti. Thanks to the support from you and others
like you, I was able to fully fund my part of the mission trip. I received so
much support in fact that I was able to put more money towards our work
projects that we conducted the two weeks we were there this past summer. Please
accept the enclosed magnet as a small token of my appreciation.
Our projects this summer focused on improving the quality of
living for the children living at the Cap Haitien Children’s Home (CHCH). Our
main focus was preparing an area for a playground. A group after us was going
to build the playground, but a lot of work needed to be done before
construction of the playground could take place. Our group hauled over 10 dump
truck loads of rock and over 8 loads of sand. We had to move the rock and sand
by shovel and wheelbarrow. We also hired some Haitian men from the community to
come in and rebuild the drainage canal.
One of the staff members at the CHCH started a church in a
town about 45 minutes away. The town is Terrier Rouge. They worship in a small
one room building that had no seats. Our group decided to build some benches
for them to sit on during their weekly worship and Bible study gatherings.
There were many other activities that took place on our
trip. If you would like to see more of the work that was completed on our trip,
please visit my blog www.trevorinhaiti.blogspot.com.
I would be happy to talk with you more in depth when I am home over Christmas
if you are interested. Again, thank you very much for your support!
Sincerely,
Trevor Robinson
